SACRAMENTO, CA – Approximately 23 vaquita remain in the wild. To help save this rare porpoise from extinction, California State Assemblymember Todd Gloria (D-San Diego) announced that his legislation to ensure California plays a vital role in protecting the vaquita received the approval of the California State Assembly today by a vote of 43-16.

AB 607 to Help Safeguard Low-Income, Disabled, and Seniors During Natural Disasters, States of Emergency Advances

SACRAMENTO, CA – When a natural disaster strikes in California, low-income families can lose their public assistance benefits under current state law thereby subjecting them to even further hunger and hardship in a time of crisis. Today, California State Assemblymember Todd Gloria (D-San Diego) announced that his legislation in partnership with the Jacobs Cushman San Diego Food Bank to ensure recipients of CalWORKS and CalFresh can maintain their benefits both during and after a disaster received the approval of the California State Assembly by a vote of 62-7.

Repealing the Affordable Care Act will cause millions of Californians to lose their health insurance.
