Assemblymember Chris Ward's Statement on Governor Newsom's 2024-25 State Budget Proposal

For immediate release:
“With a major budget deficit in the Governor’s draft budget, California is facing hard choices ahead in the coming months. I appreciate the administration’s work on this draft, but it should not sit well with any of us that we would be regressing in commitments to support more affordable housing and future climate investments. I’m encouraged that there are no proposed cuts to programs responding to homelessness, but the most important solution in the end remains affordable housing."
