(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Todd Gloria (D-San Diego) paid special tribute to Army Major Jack Griffiths, who was killed as a Prisoner of War in Korea in 1951, and whose remains have only recently been identified and returned to his family in the 78th Assembly District, by having the State Assembly adjourn in his memory. “Shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Jack enlisted into the Army,” Assemblymember Gloria said as he recounted Major Griffiths life. “He was awarded at least 24 awards and decorations for his service during WWII and Korea including a Silver Star for action and a Purple Heart.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
