Assemblymember Gloria Partners with San Diego Humane Society to Sponsor 100 Pet Adoptions
#Gloria100 Father’s Day Pet Adoption Event to Kick-Off Friday, Adoption Fees Waived for First 100 Pet Adoptions Countywide
SAN DIEGO, CA – If you ever thought about adopting a pet, this weekend may be the right time. Starting this Friday, June 16, California State Assemblymember Todd Gloria (D-San Diego) will team up with the San Diego Humane Society to host #Gloria100 – a special Father’s Day weekend-long pet adoption drive with zero adoption fees for the first 100 adoptions made at the San Diego Humane Society.
“Since 1880, the San Diego Humane Society has been rescuing and taking care of our region’s abandoned and neglected pets. So many still need a home and that’s why I’m partnering with our Humane Society to help find these animals a forever home,” said Assemblymember Todd Gloria (D-San Diego). “With #Gloria100, we are hoping to find 100 pets a new, loving home this weekend. San Diegans have such big hearts, so I am confident we can do so.”
Beginning on Friday, June 16 through Monday, June 19, pet adoption fees will be waived for the first 100 adult pet adoptions (seven months or older) made at the San Diego Humane Society. Individuals or families interested in adopting can take advantage of this fee waiver at any San Diego Humane Society location (San Diego, Escondido, and Oceanside). After 100 adoptions are reached, all adult adoption fees will be reduced to $25.00.
Throughout the weekend, Assemblymember Gloria and the San Diego Humane Society will be tweeting the adoption count leading up to the final 100th adoption. Assemblymember Gloria encourages all San Diegans to follow along using the hashtag “#Gloria100”.
