Assemblymember Gloria: “All San Diegans Should Complete and Submit Census Forms”
Assemblymember Gloria Reminds San Diegans to Submit Census Forms on Nationwide Census Day
SAN DIEGO, CA – Today is the nationwide Census day, and California State Assemblymember Todd Gloria (D-San Diego) is reminding San Diegans to complete and submit their Census forms. As part of this national day of census outreach, Assemblymember Gloria is stressing the importance of every San Diegan filling out and submitting their Census form as well as the multiple ways in which San Diegans can do so.
“The results of the Census determine how much federal funding and assistance we receive in the State of California. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s easy to see how important it is to have funding to respond to emergency situations,” said Assemblymember Todd Gloria. “I encourage every San Diegan to remember that they count, they have a role to play, and to exercise that responsibility by submitting their Census forum today.”
An inaccurate Census count for California could result in the loss of federal funding for schools, public assistance programs, emergency services, and transportation. Additionally, California could lose one or more seats in the House of Representatives.
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the Census has suspended its field operations. All Californians are encouraged to submit their census forms online at my2020census.gov. Census submissions can also be made by phone in various languages:
